I have won one international award for poetry which gave me the boost I needed to battle on whilst trying to cope and survive my disability.
I am not a victim and my disability does not define me but is now part of who I am, ability challenged! Through my endeavours, on this site, I hope to gain in confidence with feedback from all who read my work. I also wish to highlight living with an unseen much maligned illness. No site so personal would be complete without introducing you to my family and friend's. Without these loving, giving, supportive people in my life I would not be the charming, witty, talented person I am today... and I am sure they all would agree! A special time in my life was when my sister and I opened up our own business selling second-hand baby goods,clothes and toys. It was called Second to None and was based in our home town. I have put up a page to commemorate this period in our lives. Many lessons were learned and we enjoyed every minute of the 10 years we were open for business. I have also included a page called Do You Need A Friend? This is my first attempt as an agony aunt, your online friend, who wishes to support, help and advise anyone who feels lost, depressed, stressed or alone. Tough times need talking through and it is here I hope to put my skills as a counsellor to good use. I will not solve your problems but act as a friend and signpost to others who may help you more. I haven't lived fifty years plus in this world without learning a thing or two. On the page is a list of areas and topics I feel I could help you with. As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved. My finished articles, short stories and poems all have copyright and are registered. If you have comment on any piece, good or bad, I would love to hear from you.This page can be also used to contact me if what you read grabs you and you would like to publish it!
